Shortly after debuting the cover art for the new single (in which she showcases her butt in a thong), the “Applause” singer decided to begin the countdown to the release of “Do What U Want” by writing a barrage of tweets addressing some of the criticism she’s received over the course of her career… like the jabs about how much weight she gained last year, the controversy surrounding her alleged imitation of Madonna, and even the comparisons between “Applause” and Katy Perry‘s “Roar,” which performed better in the charts.
