Traveling By Train In Thailand - Headline Plus | Headline Plus

Train travel in Thailand is an excellent way to explore the country and view the spectacular scenery along the way.  All major lines originate in Bangkok at the central railway station of Hua Lamphong.  Trains traveling on the railways in Thailand have 5 classes of travel: First Class Sleepers, Second Class Sleepers, Second Class express in a Diesel Rail Car, second Class Seats, and Third Class Seats.  First Class Sleepers are modern and air-conditioned, with lockable 2-berth compartments with a washbasin included.  There is a shared toilet in each car for all the occupants of the car.  The train provides clean sheets, towels and soap for you to use.  On some lines the steward or stewardess will even come around and take your food and drink orders for breakfast and dinner and bring the food to you in your compartment.
