Associated Press Sat Nov 23, 2013 9:25 AM

SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas — Three members of singer Willie Nelson's band have been hurt when their bus hit a bridge pillar in East Texas during rainy conditions.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says Nelson was not aboard in the weather-related accident before dawn Saturday on Interstate 30 near Sulphur Springs.

Trooper Sylvia Jennings says seven people were on the westbound bus, including the driver.

Two band members have minor injuries but the third was seriously hurt. Jennings says all three were transported to a Sulphur Springs hospital. Their names and further details on conditions weren't immediately released.

Jennings says the driver was dealing with wet roads and high winds. The bridge sustained minor damage. Traffic was briefly diverted from the accident site about 75 miles northeast of Dallas.
