Kelly Clarkson is sharing some sad news on Twitter.
"My best friend died yesterday," she writes above a picture of a poster-perfect black poodle mix.
"Joplin was special. He fought his whole life to survive & now he can rest. I loved him."
The singer adopted the dog two years ago and almost lost him soon after, on New Year's Eve. Seems Joplin got spooked by some fireworks.
"I lost it (like a little girl) and started bawling when she (Clarkson's sister) told me," the newlywed wrote to America's Country Countdown radio host Kix Brooks. "Seriously, I was so dramatic (hard to believe, I know), but I don't have children and (my dogs) are my babies that I sleep with every night."
Hours later, she found Joplin tangled in some vines and paddling through a pond near her Texas spread.
"Yes, I might be too attached to my dogs and highly sensitive, but I don't care. I love them!" she wrote at the time.

After misleading us with an announcement that they had canceled their wedding and planned to elope instead, Kelly and Brandon went ahead and got married… in a beautiful wedding ceremony!
The blushing bride and her dashing groom, who have been engaged since December, tied at the knot at Blackberry Farms in Tennessee on Sunday, with Kelly dressed in a lacy white Temperley gown and Brandon in a traditional charcoal-hued suit.
Kelly tweeted:
“I’m officially Mrs. Blackstock :) We got married yesterday at Blackberry Farms in TN, the most beautiful place ever!”

Clarkson also shared an adorable picture of Blackstock planting a sweet kiss on her head. And she looks stunning in her long-sleeve lace wedding dress by Temperley (she tweeted thanks to the designer).
The ceremony took place at Blackberry Farm in Walland, Tenn.
Clarkson had said in August that the two had scrapped their big wedding plans because of their busy schedules, instead opting to elope. It seems like they stuck with the low-key plan.
The Stronger singer, 31, is now stepmom to music-exec Blackstock's two children.
