I think coaching is one of those words that is used ALOT and often times confused, is it therapy, is it counselling, is it mentoring?
The answer to this is NO........coaching gives you a structure and a process to move forward towards what you want.......looking at where you are now, where you want to be instead and how to get there.....in my opinion a good coach should have NLP skills.....why? Because as a coach language is your vehicle to assist someone in creating change and results and therefore I beleive it to be very important to have good language skills and also a deep indepth understanding on the workings of the mind.
I also believe its important to look at why a person is a coach, is it because of the difference the skills they use with their clients have made to their own lives? And do they walk their talk i.e. are they a model of excellence for what they offer and do they use the skills for themselves both personally and professionally?
