Daniel Radcliffe has pulled back from his declarations of support for first Nick Clegg and then Ed Miliband, saying “bickering” politicians were putting off voters.
The young actor said he felt it was important to vote but insisted that he had no affiliation to any of the political parties.
When Radcliffe announced before the last election that he was planning to vote Lib-Dem, Mr Clegg invited him to a meeting, evidently hoping that some of the former Harry Potter star’s magic would rub off on him.
The 24-year-old actor has now revealed that, to his shock, he was invited to assist with shaping the party’s direction.
