Accused Alec Baldwin stalker found in contempt of court

NEW YORK — A Canadian woman accused of stalking Alec Baldwin has been ordered to jail for 30 days before her trial is even over, because of a series of courtroom outbursts.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Robert Mandelbaum issued the punishment Wednesday to Genevieve Sabourin after finding her in contempt of court. She replied, "I didn't do anything!"

He had warned her repeatedly about speaking out during the proceedings.

Sabourin continued to interrupt afterward. She said she did so because she didn't trust her lawyer.

She's due to testify later Wednesday.

Baldwin and prosecutors say she conducted a campaign of harassment that escalated from phone calls and emails to showing up at his homes.

She says the two had a sexual relationship. He denies that.
