Disney kid Dylan Sprouse responds to Joe Jonas

By Ann Oldenburg USA Today Tue Dec 3, 2013 1:24 PM

Joe Jonas spills a lot of beans in his New York magazine first-person piece about growing-up Disney.

He writes of how he and his brothers were struggling to make it as teens until Disney stepped in and turned them into arena-filling superstars. Disney, he writes is great at "creating fame."

But then Jonas goes on to talk about the "pressure" he felt to live up to the Disney expectations, to "sugarcoat" just about everything. It felt, he says, "like we couldn't be creative." He adds, "Being a part of the Disney thing for so long will make you not want to be this perfect little puppet forever."

We've heard Miley Cyrus say she wanted desperately to shed her Hannah Montana image. Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan were early Disney stars, too. But not every Disney kid has felt so trapped by the Mouse House.

Dylan Sprouse, who starred with twin Cole on Disney's The Suite Life shows from 2005-2011, isn't buying Jonas' beef. On his tumblr page, he has posted a response to the essay.

"First, I think it's (b.s.) that they were being robbed of choice or creativity. If they wanted to, they could have told Disney 'NO.' Cole and I did this hundreds of times and we ended up all right. The only reason they didn't is because, like many of the people on that channel, I think they fell for the allure of fame."

Sprouse also says artists today "just assume they have to do what they are told by their proprietors' but, he writes, "If you believe this, not only are you incredibly foolish, but you are a BAD ARTIST. Individuality is modernity's most interesting trait regarding artwork and so so many talented individuals realize this. You do not have to become something else to be successful. Not only is it not too late for them to redefine themselves now, it was never too late."

Joey Fatone leads new ads for Bosley hair

By Ann Oldenburg USA Today Tue Dec 3, 2013 1:29 PM

Start looking for 'N Syncer Joey Fatone in new Bosley hair ads. He's the new face — and head — of the brand.

The boy bander says in a release from the company, "Performing in front of a live audience can be pretty intimidating, so having a full head of hair was important to me."

He says he remembers being the "only one" in 'N Sync who was "getting thinner on top. I became self-conscious and started wearing hats more often."

So he got "hair restoration," which according to Bosley's site is "not a hairpiece. Not hairplugs. Hair transplantation."

Now, Fatone says, "Hey, if you have something about yourself you don't like, you change it."

Fatone will appear in a nationwide Bosley advertising campaign including television, web and social media, beginning early December.

Scott Disick reportedly parties at University of Arizona

Bang Showbiz Tue Dec 3, 2013 2:24 PM

Scott Disick poured vodka over a group of college students on Monday night.

The 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' star, who has frequently argued with his long-term girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian, about his drinking on the reality TV series in the past, reportedly caused ''chaos'' when he partied with the brunette beauty at her former college, the University of Arizona in Tucson.

A source told gossip website RadarOnline.com: ''You wouldn't believe the madness that went on last night. The students were ecstatic and it was complete chaos.''

The 30-year-old star was spotted pouring alcohol from an upper terrace at Gentle Ben's pub and cameras captured the entire incident for the couple's E! reality show.

An insider recently told Life & Style magazine that Scott, who has a son, Mason, three, and 18-month-old daughter, Penelope, with Kourtney, has allegedly been partying more since the death of his mother, Bonnie, from cirrhosis of the liver in October.

The source said: ''Scott is devastated. Kourtney sees him heading down a bad path again. She's trying to help him through this

Katy Perry is newest UNICEF goodwill ambassador

Associated Press Tue Dec 3, 2013 2:30 PM

UNITED NATIONS — Pop star Katy Perry says becoming a goodwill ambassador for the U.N. children's agency has made her realize that there's more to happiness than material possessions and social status.

She said that on her first trip for UNICEF, to the impoverished Indian Ocean island nation of Madagascar in April, she was moved by "the incredible joy" of the children despite the difficulties many faced — and that inspired her to write the song "Unconditionally."

"It really kind of reprioritized my thinking, and my whole approach on life, and how to find my own joy and my own happiness that isn't being from material possessions and social status," Perry said.

Rumor: Victoria's Secret model fired for dissing Swift

Tue Dec 3, 2013 2:53 PM

Victoria's Secret model Jessica Hart sashayed down the runway at the taping of the annual fashion show earlier this month in New York with a smiley face balloon.

But she probably hasn't been smiling about a remark she made at the afterparty.

Hart was asked by Women's Wear Daily about Taylor Swift, who performed on the show and seemed to enjoy prancing down the catwalk as she sang.

Could she make it as a V.S. model?

"No," said Hart, adding,. "I think, you know what, God bless her heart. I think she's great," she said. "But, I don't know, to me, she didn't fit. I don't know if I should say that."

Hart went on to say, "I think what you find is that for a lot of us, we've been working for 14, 15 years; what it takes to make it here comes from experience and confidence and knowing how to be confident with yourself. I think it comes with age. It's definitely the benchmark of all jobs."

Page Six reported last week that Hart had been fired by Victoria's Secret and would not appear in catalogs or in next year's show.

So we asked V.S. about it and got the official word from the company in a statement:

"There is no truth to the rumors that Jessica Hart has been fired or that she will no longer work with the brand. As you will see, she was a great part of our show and we look forward to continuing to work with her."

The statement also said that "...we at Victoria's Secret and all those involved, including Jessica Hart, were thrilled to have Taylor be a part of the show. We look forward to sharing her performances next week during the television special. "

You can see Hart and her, um, balloons on the show, airing Dec. 10 on CBS at 10 p.m. ET.

Paul Walker autopsy complete; results to come Wednesday

By Justin Pritchard Associated Press Wed Dec 4, 2013 7:03 AM

LOS ANGELES — Authorities are expected to release the results of autopsies on the two bodies recovered from the fiery crash that killed "Fast & Furious" actor Paul Walker and his friend.

Walker's publicist has said the actor was the passenger when Roger Rodas' 2005 Porsche Carrera GT crashed into a light pole and tree, then exploded in flames on Saturday.

The families of both men have provided dental records, which will permit not only formal identification of the bodies, but also official word on whether Walker or Rodas was behind the wheel.

The Los Angeles County coroner's office said it completed autopsies Tuesday, but would not release results of the autopsies and identifications until Wednesday.

Walker starred in all but one of the six "Fast & Furious" blockbusters, films that glorified fast cars and dangerous driving.
